This holiday drink is a little different from some of the holiday cocktails that we may think of. In fact, many of the holiday cocktails that I serve include more traditional fare such as:
- Cranberry Champagne Cocktail
- Rosemary Pomegranate Mimosa
- Apple Cider Mimosa Recipe
- Holiday Mulled Wine
However; pear has long been a festive fruit (think, “Partridge in a pear tree……”). In fact, December is national pear month! Did you know that? It just doesn’t seem to be as common as the traditional cranberry, apple, and wine flavors. Check out this post all about traditional holiday flavors here. After you taste this sparkling pear cocktail I think you’re going to have a brand new, and delicious holiday cocktail that you can serve at Christmas brunch or any time during this festive season!
What you need to make this Sparkling Pear Cocktail
The ingredients for this cocktail are few and the tastes are incredible. There are only three ingredients needed for this cocktail, and it’s one you’ll make again and again. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2.5 oz pear brandy
- 1/2 bottle Prosecco that has been chilled
- 1/2 of an Anjou pear sliced for garnish
This recipe is for two cocktails – just double it for four…..and keep going for a pitcher!
- 2.5 oz pear brandy
- 1/2 bottle chilled Prosecco
- 1/2 an Anjou pear sliced for garnish
- Add pear brandy to your cocktail glass or champagne flute
- Top with chilled Prosecco
- Place thin slices of pear in the glass and one on the top for garnish
Don't make this cocktail too far ahead as the pears may brown.
