Recipe for eggnog spiked with bourbon.

Bourbon Holiday Eggnog Recipe

If you enjoy a creamy beverage, you need to give my Bourbon Holiday Eggnog recipe a try! Eggnog is another love/hate beverage that people have pretty strong feelings about.  During the holidays I always pick some up, and I always serve it with bourbon!

What’s the best recipe for eggnog?

I don’t make my own, I’ll be honest.  I pick up my favorite flavors in the store and use it as a base for boozy holiday cocktails.  Howver; there are still many people out there who make this creamy, milky treat from scratch! A traditional eggnong recipe contains milk, eggs, and spices.  Homemade eggnog is probably not something I’d venture into, so I’ll hand over the specifics to someone with experience for making homemade eggnog, the girls over at The Tastes of Lizzy T.

You betcha it is! Bourbon is what has traditionally been mixed with eggnog for many, many years! However; you need to be careful to choose a good one.

How to choose a good bourbon:

Did you know that bourbon is whiskey made from corn? It’s American whiskey! Personally, I have enjoyed Breckenridge.  And although many people will tell you that it doesn’t matter what one you choose when mixing it with eggnog, I’d have to disagree.  You need to enjoy the taste on it’s own if you are using it in a cocktail you are serving to guests.

This one! It’s easy, it’s full of Christmas spirit, and it’s a super recipe for a crowd!
