Having a party for kids at Halloween can be tricky! You want the party to be fun – not scary. I’ve put together a post on How to Throw a Hoot of A Halloween Party that you can read here, but I thought I’d find the best “kid friendly” kids Halloween Party decor I could and share it with you.
I looked for items that were fun, well reviewed, and not too expensive.
Tips for entertaining on Halloween for kids:
- Go with a theme. Ghosts, zombies, witches, spiders, even Frankenstein. Just keep out any gravestones, blood and gore.
- Keep the party food simple. Finger foods that can be grabbed easily and eaten while in costume is key. Take a look at this post on Kid Friendly Halloween Food.
- Put together a playlist that is kid friendly. I found this Halloween party play list for kids on Spotify.
- Set up an area for kids to decorate their own treats!
- Don’t offer alcohol at a party for kids. There are so many reasons why.

Another area for kids could be a Pumpkin Decorating section. I wouldn’t recommend carving – too messy and it needs parental supervision. Decorating small pumpkins with stickers, however could be a lot of fun! Also – cover the table with an orange tablecloth and it becomes more decor!
