Having a party for kids at Halloween can be tricky! You want the party to be fun – not scary. I’ve put together a post on How to Throw a Hoot of A Halloween Party that you can read here, but I thought I’d find the best “kid friendly” kids Halloween Party decor I could and share it with you.
I looked for items that were fun, well reviewed, and not too expensive.
Tips for entertaining on Halloween for kids:
- Go with a theme. Ghosts, zombies, witches, spiders, even Frankenstein. Just keep out any gravestones, blood and gore.
- Keep the party food simple. Finger foods that can be grabbed easily and eaten while in costume is key. Take a look at this post on Kid Friendly Halloween Food.
- Put together a playlist that is kid friendly. I found this Halloween party play list for kids on Spotify.
- Set up an area for kids to decorate their own treats!
- Don’t offer alcohol at a party for kids. There are so many reasons why.
Kids Halloween party decor ideas:
Witch Party Striped Decorative Straws:
How cute are these straws for your party?? Kids will enjoy these festive Halloween straws! Pick up some plastic mason jars and you can use them for a Halloween punch for kids!
I love games at a party – and this is adorable for kids! It doubles as decor and entertainment! You can even put a few in a row for a fun game that more than one child can play at a time!
Another area for kids could be a Pumpkin Decorating section. I wouldn’t recommend carving – too messy and it needs parental supervision. Decorating small pumpkins with stickers, however could be a lot of fun! Also – cover the table with an orange tablecloth and it becomes more decor!
These lights were the hit at our house last year! The kids loved them – and didn’t find them scary at all! They can be used inside or outside, so they’re double the fun!
Halloween Party Decoration Kit, Pumpkin Banners, Paper Fan Flowers, Honeycomb Balls & Paper Lanterns
Imagine the delight on the kids’ faces when they see a balloon arch like this! Talk about kid friendly and festive – I love it!
Every party needs a banner! I’d pick up two and place one near the front door and another above the party food table!
Halloween Party Lights – 100 Feet 300 LED String Lights with Adapter, Upgraded Connectable Wide Angle Fairy Lights
These fairy lights will set a magical Halloween mood for your kid friendly party! With that Halloween play list going in the background and these lights flickering you’ve got a winning combination!
Monadicase Halloween Placemats Set of 4, 12” x 17.8” Spider Pumpkin Happy Halloween Print Kitchen Decor
Kids will get into the party mood quickly when you place these on your front lawn! These non-scary decorations are festive AND fun!!
Set a fun Halloween table with this set of napkins, plates, and cups! The best part is that this package includes 94 items!
I loved this banner when I first saw it – and I’ve ordered it for our front door for this year! I think it’s a nice way to welcome people to the party!
