This winter cocktail is one of my favorites – and a big reason is because it’s so darn pretty! I serve this cocktail in a golden colored chilled mug, and the recipe is super simple! It had to make the Holiday Cocktail Recipe Roundup (Top 5) as there are only 4 ingredients, plus a garnish:

  • vodka
  • cranberry juice
  • orange juice
  • ginger beer

You can find ginger beer at any grocery store, so don’t let that itimidate you! You’ll find this Christmas cocktail to be refreshing and festive!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz vodka
  • 8 oz cranberry juice
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 8 oz ginger beer
  • Frozen cranberries, sprigs of rosemary, and orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together minus the garnishes.
  2. Add to a chillded copper mug filled with ice.
  3. Garnish with frozen cranberries, sprigs of rosemary, and orange slices.

Notes

If you don't have copper mugs, use a chilled glass!

(You can make a pitcher easily for a crowd!  Again, there are only a few ingredients – and I bet you might already have some vodka on hand!

  • orange vodka (plain if that’s what you have on hand)
  • pomegranate juice
  • Triple Sec
  • lime juice

Ingredients

  • 3 oz vodka
  • 1 oz cointreau
  • 3 oz cranberry juice
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • Lemon or lime zest to garnish

Instructions

  1. Pour all of your ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake for 10 seconds until the cocktail is chilled.
  3. Garnish with lemon or lime zest.

What’s a holiday cocktail roundup without a champagne cocktail? Well, it’s not complete! This easy cocktail recipe is perfect for Christmas morning! Pair it with some good, old fashioned warm cinnamon rolls from the bakery and you’ve just set up your perfect Christmas morning!

How to make a cranberry champagne cocktail for the holidays!

This holiday cocktail with cranberry juice is the perfect holiday drink! Perfect for Christmas or Thanksgiving, this cocktail will get you into the holiday spirit!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz sweetened cranberry juice
  • 4 springs rosemary
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1 bottle champagne
  • 1 cup frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds

Instructions

  1. Chill your glasses.
  2. Add cranberry juice and a splash of lime.
  3. Top the glass with champagne.
  4. Add your sprig of rosemary, and pomegranate seeds
  5. Finish by adding a few frozen cranberries

This warmed up version of a Brandy Old Fashioned will fill you up with the holiday spirit!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz water
  • 4 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 8 oz bourbon
  • 8 dashes bitters
  • 4 maraschino cherries
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Place the water and maple syrup into a saucepan and heat on a medium heat until the maple syrup is dissolved into the water.
  2. Sitr in bourbon and bitters and turn off the heat.
  3. Divide into mugs or heat safe glasses and garnish with a maraschino cherry and a sliced orange.

Make in larger batches or more guests!

5. Hot Spiked Apple Cider

This cocktail is my absolute favorite, and it’s always a hit.  If you are having any kind of holiday party or get together this season, adding my Hot Apple Cider spiked with rum to your list is essential.  The aromas that fill the air, the warmth in your glass, and the way it warms up your whole body get me every time.  It’s a favorite among all of my friends, and they look forward to enjoying it while the kids make their gingerbread houses every year. You won’t be sorry you added this rum cocktail to your list of favorites – because it’s simple, it’s delicious, and guests will look forward to it every year!

Hot Apple Cider Spiked With Rum - Sweet Humble Home

Hot Apple Cider (Spiked With Rum)

Yield: 6-8
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

Hot Apple Cider (Spiked with Rum) is the perfect fall cocktail! A simple to make, loved by everyone cocktail that you can enjoy all season long!

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts fresh apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cardamom
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 1 apple peeled and cut into half
  • 1 tsp Allspice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup spiced, dark rum
  • 8 each cinnamon sticks (place two in each mug)

Instructions

    1. Stick the whole cloves into the apples (5 into each half)
    2. Mix all of the ingredients minus the rum together in a sauce pan and bring the saucepan a simmer.
    3. Lower the heat, add the rum, and simmer at low on the stove for 20-30 minutes.
    4. Spoon the cider into the mugs (removing the apple), and add two cinnamon sticks to each mug to garnish

Notes

Optional:

Use cinnamon sugar on the rim of the mug along with star anise for additional garnish.

This Hot Apple Cider can also be made in the slow cooker. To do this, mix all of the ingredients and cook on low for 2 hours. Add rum and warm for another 30 minutes.
