When you have guests for the weekend, it’s important to start each day with something special. By prepping a little ahead of time you can make your company feel even more welcome than you already have. Here are some of my best breakfast ideas for weekend guests!
The Local Bakery
Do you have a local bakery? Waking up to a breakfast table with a pretty platter of fresh bagels, croissants, fresh fruit and pastry is a great way to start the day. Set out a fresh pot of hot coffee along with some orange or tomato juice and guests will feel at ease. The best part – this can all be purchased the day before. Hint: Use linen napkins, your nice serve ware and have a local paper or brochures on area attractions. This will help to make the morning even more special.
Whipping up some of your own sweet breakfast treats is never a bad idea either, if you have the time. Try my Easy Angel Food Pumpkin Cakes . They are super yummy and really easy to make! My guests loved them.
Waffles & Pancakes
Waffles and pancakes are both treats that can be made ahead and warmed for guests. Simple place waffles in a 200 degree oven on the middle rack. Warm them up slowly so they don’t get too crispy. I warm up pancakes the same way. Top with powdered sugar and have some warm maple syrup on hand. I also put out room temperature butter, as well as jams. Put some sausage or bacon on to cook and you’ve got a full meal that looks impressive with little effort.
If you love to cook and want to do a little bit more, cook up something special that still won’t take you away from your guests for too long. These Scrambled Egg Pepper Boats are easy to make, but look and taste impressive. Serve them alongside some bacon and toast and guests will remember this meal for sure!
For the Kiddos
Kids are easy. Scrambled eggs, toast, oatmeal. And let’s not forget how fun it was to choose between a few different cereals in the morning! Have a little orange juice and milk on hand and you’re ready to fill little hungry bellies!
Let’s not leave out the never ending world of breakfast casseroles. A few that I have tried:
Bisquick Breakfast Casserole by The Salty Marshmallow
Tex Mex Breakfast Casserole by Skinny Taste
Ham & Cheese Breakfast Casserole Recipe by Taste & Tell Blog
All of these recipes let you take the worry out of making breakfast in the morning!
Remember why they are visiting….
Guests are visiting you because they love to be with you, so don’t stress about everything being perfect. It’s just another chance to gather those you care about around the table.
