Week 1 – My Weight Loss Journey Update
Week 1 – My Weight Loss Journey Update: I officially started my journey with you in my post: My Weight Loss Journey. It has been a little over a week, and I’m checking in. If you didn’t read that post yet, go ahead and catch up – we’ll wait for you right here. When you come back we’ll get right into it! Week 1 – My Weight Loss Journey Update!
Most Importantly – THANK YOU.
First, I want to thank you for your support. It was overwhelming, and wonderful in ways I can’t even begin to explain. I was super nervous putting it all out there, but when I did I was surrounded with love and good wishes. Thank you. So much.
Eating:
I did a fantastic job staying on track this week. Lean meats, veggies at every meal, and healthy snacks are what I ate. I have not made a carb at dinner time – we haven’t for awhile now, and I kept with that. Something I’m horrible at? Water. I don’t drink nearly enough and that needs to change. I sometimes wonder if I’m walking around in a perpetual state of dehydration. Honestly, I don’t know how I couldn’t be.
Nighttime was hard for me. I’ve always been an evening snacker, and I automatically want to grab something to eat once my little one goes down. This week I was able to cut myself off by 9:00 p.m. I understand that I need to make the cut off earlier. Baby steps.
I developed a new recipe for breakfast – Scrambled Egg Pepper Boats, and it’s so tasty! I really encourage you to try it. As I go along I’m going to try to develop even more recipes to keep things interesting! It’s all about adding vegetables into my morning meals!
Exercise:
I am proud to say that I have walked every day. Even in snow. On the day I didn’t walk, I put on a video that I streamed through Amazon Prime. I’ve always loved Amazon Prime, but now I love it even more. On Friday, I couldn’t get out to walk because my son was home on a snow day. I simply streamed a video onto my tv. That way I didn’t have to miss a day!
Exercising felt GREAT. REALLY, REALLY GREAT! As soon as I dropped my son off at school I would just keep walking. I walked around the parking lot, bobbing and weaving in between parked cars in order to stay out of the way until the drop off line stopped. People were practically cheering me on. Talk about support!
Overall:
Overall, I did really well. I was motivated, I moved every day, and I ate well. I think it was particularly helpful to track my food. A friend asked if I wanted to share our food logs each day. It’s another level of accountability, and I think t’s helping. Not to mention – she has some really fantastic recipe ideas!
Week 1 Results:
I am down 1.25 inches overall!
Go me! The exercising is working! I was up an eighth of a pound – but my nutritionist insists that is normal because I’m turning fat into muscle by moving! I’ll take it! I’m even more motivated now!
I’ll post an official update on inches each week, and pounds lost monthly! I hope you stick with me!
If you’ve joined my journey – how are you doing? What’s working and what isn’t working? I’d love to hear from you!
xoxo – JJ
